Hi! My name is David and I’m from Barcelona, Spain, but I’ve been living in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, for over 10 years. When I first arrived in England, I barely spoke any English, so I enrolled in a language school to improve. To practice even more, I started doing Spanish-English language exchanges, and that’s when I discovered my passion for teaching Spanish. Later, I met Katch, a Spanish teacher, and began collaborating in her classes. I helped create activities, games, and interactive lessons, especially for children. To make learning more fun, I started incorporating artificial intelligence into the lessons—using AI to create songs with newly learned vocabulary, videos, images, and sounds. We also record videos of ourselves in real-life situations—ordering coffee, shopping in a supermarket, taking the train or bus—so students can learn in a more immersive way. Beyond the classroom, we organize cultural exchange events where English and Spanish speakers can connect, practice languages, and experience each other's cultures. Since I also discovered a love for cooking while working in a residence, we often include Spanish tapas and paella in our events, bringing people together through food!
